Norah Jones is putting out a new record which is chock full of dope collaborations. Kweli? Outkast? Q-Tip? Foo Fighters? Sign me up! Sounds very cool if you ask me, and there is serious star power on here. Some of these tracks were even released and won Grammys! Drops November 16th. Click the album cover to pre-order!
The Abstract and The Legendary get bizzy on one of my favorite Tribe joints ever.
Was listening to “The Ecstatic” yesterday and was thinking we could use a Mos Def-infused Five For Friday, so here it is!
We got mics, when do we go?!!?!?!?!!?!?!
Diddy hops up on the Summerstage while Q-Tip is performing to do his classic Diddy dances.
Never seen this video, but this is the jam. Q-Tip’s Twitter hipped me to the vid.
Check out this sick mix from Digiwaxx featuring two DJ sets, one by Mark Ronson and one by DJ Soul. These sets were recorded live on Nov 4, 2008, the night that Barack Obama won the presidency.

I said it once, and I’m gonna say it 1000000 times. GO GET TIP’S NEW CD “THE RENAISSANCE”……NOW, mofo!
The Monster is a little heated this morning after reading this article on SOHH.com . It’s kind of a sales wrap up on hip hop winners and losers this year. As far as the winners go, no real big surprises. Everyone knows that Usher, T.I., Lil Wayne, and Beyonce had big sales numbers this year. What made me heated was who was listed in the “losers category”.
Can someone please tell me how a rapper like Plies can go gold easily, but how an EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT album like Q-Tip’s new “The Renaissance” can only have sold 79,700 copies???
If you are a real hip hop fan and THAT doesn’t get you riled up, how about Nas’ joint this year, which to date has only sold 407,100 copies and hasn’t even gone gold yet.
If you haven’t bought either of these albums, go get the BOTH. TODAY. Or know that you are hurting the probability that these artists will be able to continue to release albums.
You know how the Monster loves his North Cack artists? Well Kooley High are some of the best. I’ve been up on Inflowential and them for a minute, and you gotta love how they roll. They are starting to garner quite a buzz around the nation, so if you haven’t checked them out yet, make sure you do. Below is a slew of Kooley High shit for download and your viewing pleasure.
