Where You At Wednesday : Cast of “Step By Step”

Another classic TGIF show from back in the day was “Step By Step,” it was a modern day “Brady Bunch” if you will, consisting of two families coming together in a household, and the hilarity that ensued.  It ran from 1991-1997 for 7 seasons, though the last one or two seasons were kind of lame if I remember correctly. The real question is “What are these cats up to these days?” Well, as usual, The Monster Blog has the answers for you.

Patrick Duffy as Frank Lambert

Okay, so that picture is clearly not Patrick Duffy today, but it was too baller of a pic to pass up. I mean come on, shirt off, trucker hat, Coors Light….can it get any more 1978 in here? Currently, Duffy is 60 years old. Since “Step By Step,” he’s been in a bunch of made for TV movies, but has also done some pretty cool shit. For example, he was a voice actor for multiple episodes of “Family Guy.” He currently stars on “The Bold & The Beautiful” and was recently a presenter at the Daytime Emmy Awards.

Suzanne Somers as Carol Lambert

Those Thighmasters must work pretty well, because Somers looks good for 63. Everyone knows about her fame prior to “Step By Step,” but what about after? For a few years after the sitcom ended, she hosted “Candid Camera” on CBS.  In the summer of 2005, she made her Broadway debut in “The Blonde in the Thunderbird,” which was a one-woman show. She received a patriotic civilian service award for performing this for military bases and families. In 2001, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. In 2008, she was mis-diagnosed with inoperable cancer, which led to her writing a book about alternative cancer treatments called “Knockout.”

Staci Keanan as Dana

Keanan hasn’t done too much since the sitcom ended. She appeared in two movies, “Stolen Poem” and “Hidden Secrets.” In 2009 she was in “Holyman Undercover.” She also stays active in small theatre roles.

Angela Watson as Karen

Watson played the hot “air-headed” role on the series and did a good job of it. She has had trouble landing roles since the series ended and has even tried to dabble in country music. If you remember in a few episodes, she does sing country pretty well (I think she wins a contest on a Nashville trip or something?). In the year 2000, she started CAST (Child Actors Supporting Themselves), which helps child actors and athletes be smart with and handle their finances. Good cause I think.

Christine Lakin as Al

Sniggity. HELLOOOOO Al Lambert. Somebody grew up, huh? Since “Step By Step,” Lakin has been in several TV movies including Showtime’s “Reefer Madness,” and she was also a regular cast member in 2006 on Nick Cannon’s “Wild N Out.” As recently as 2008, she was in FHM magazine, and also in a movie with Paris Hilton called “The Hottie and the Nottie,” where apparently she played the ugly chick? Interesting…

Christopher Castile as Mark

For some reason, when I see Castile, I think of “Beethoven” and not “Step By Step,” but oh well. Since the sitcom, all he has really done was voice the character of Eugene in Nickelodeon’s “Hey Arnold” cartoon (wow, totally forgot about that show!). It is rumored that he is now a Political Science/History teacher at Biola University in California.

Josh Byrne as Brendan

To be honest, I couldn’t find out anything about this kid nowadays.

Sasha Mitchell as Cody

I seriously thought I remembered something about this guy hanging himself in the late 1990′s, but I guess I made that up. My bad, Sasha. I think I’ve probably told several people that misinformation before. Since the series, he has been in some straight-to-DVD movies as well as made appearances on “JAG,” “NYPD Blue,” and “ER.”
