Not one of my faves on the album, but the video made me like it more!
For this edition of Five For Friday, I decided to hip everyone to 5 books I’ve recently read that I enjoyed. That’s right, the Monster is edumacated and likes to get his read on. Yeah, son. Click each book cover to learn more.
The Monster of Florence (by Douglas Preston, Mario Spezi)
Zombie Spaceship Wasteland (by Patton Oswalt)
The Book of Basketball (by Bill Simmons)
Decoded (by Jay-Z)
I Am Not A Serial Killer (by Dan Wells)
Sick live laid back version right there.
Lots of cool shit in this interview. I loved hearing what artists passed on which beats that ended up becoming hits. For example, Just Blaze talks about how “Girls, Girls, Girls” was originally made for Ghostface.
Apparently there is a documentary coming out next year on 9th Wonder?! Should be HELLA DOPE! Check out what Young Guru (Jay-Z’s key engineer, and sometimes DJ) had to say about what he feels about 9th. This is sick right here.
This Five For Friday shows you some videos from Roc Nation artist and Fayetteville, NC representer J.Cole. NC STAND UP!
Cole got love for UNC:
SIMBA (This is a sick video, highly recommend peeping at least this one):
Losing My Balance (Acoustic Live):
Knock On Wood Freestyle:
Thought this was really funny. ON TO THE NEXT LUNCH!!!!
Some French documentary goes behind the scenes and gets the story on Jay-Z’s “Hard Knock Life” and how it was created. There’s French narration, but all Jay-Z, Kid Capri, 45 King stuff is in English. Dope to hear about it.
