LET’S GO HEELS!!!!

Here’s some good mojo/vibes for my Heels tonight taking on a tough Marquette team! Survive and advance baby!!! GO HEELS!!!!

UNC vs. College of Charleston DTH Highlights

The Monster was in attendance, with my parents, and Big Soda at this game. While I’m super stoked to see the Heels get a win, a few things standout from the game:

1. The defensive pressure of the Heels needs to be turned up a FEW notches

2. Rebounding, especially preventing the other team from getting offensive boards is an issue.

3. Kendall Marshall needs more minutes, and Harrison Barnes needs to step it up.

4. MOST IMPORTANTLY, the Dean Dome needs to learn how to hype up a young team. You could hear a pin drop in there until CofC took the lead with about 10 minutes left in the game. People need to get behind this young team and motivate them. You could tell when the crowd got hype, they got hype.

THE COMEBACK: Jan 27, 1993 UNC vs. FSU

Many Carolina fans refer to this game as “The Comeback”. Number 3 and Number 15 (I think) facing off in a battle for the top spot at the time in the ACC. The Heels were down 21 with just over 9 minutes to play in the second half. Watch the comeback transpire above (commercials, timeouts, etc have all been cut out). That FSU team was no joke either, with Bob Sura, Sam Cassell, and Charlie Ward.

IT’S AWESOME BABY!

Will “Gravy Train” Graves with back to back jumpers

This is from 2 seasons ago. Gravy Train drills back to back jumpers against Valpo. I was at this game. I’m expecting big things from Graves this season!

Blue Heaven – Severe Carolina Dunkage

The title says it all. Shouts to the dude who made this, very tight vid!!

CONGRATS TO TY LAWSON

tylawson

Congrats to TY LAWSON, who was named the ACC PLAYER OF THE YEAR! Way to go, Ty! Rest up during the ACC Tourney and help us bring home that National Championship that all Heels fans are rooting for! You’ve had a great year, let’s keep it moving forward!

1961 Larry Brown v. Art Heyman

Fight between Larry Brown (UNC) and Art Heyman (dook) from the 1961 matchup. Cool footage.

Where You At Wednesdays: Cherokee Parks and Greg Newton

In honor of the game tonight, we are asking where Cherokee Parks and Greg Newton are these days.

Now, I could have done the research and told you about Newton’s days with the Raleigh Cougars, or Cherokee’s lackluster NBA career in which he got more tattoos than points scored. But why do all that research and tell you where these guys are these days when I already know.

THEY ARE ON A POSTER GETTING DUNKED ON BY STACKHOUSE.

Cool Statistic for NCAA Basketball

Happy Holidays to all, I know the site hasn’t been updated in a while, I’ve been enjoying my holiday like I hope everyone else has.

I’m sitting at home watching the Maryland-Georgetown game right now (step it up Maryland, geez…) and they just put an interesting statistic up.

NUMBER OF RANKED OPPONENTS PLAYED SINCE 1997

1. UNC – 115

2. Michigan State – 114

3. Kentucky – 111

4. Maryland – 107

5. Georgia Tech – 106

For me, this proved several things. The first is that the ACC, despite being down the last few years, is still a dominant and deep conference (evidence of 3 ACC schools in the top 5 shows depth in the conference). The second is that the UNC Tar Heels do not schedule nearly as many cupcakes as some other (ahem…) schools might do. This is one list you will never see dook on.

UNC/NCSU – Feb 12, 1997 – The COTA FLOATA GAME

You’ll have to wait for vid to load to get through some commercial breaks. This is for Big Soda, who I know loves this shot.
