Five For Friday – Committed (from The Sing Off)

So everyone has a few guilty pleasure shows. One of those shows for me is “The Sing Off,” which is like American Idol, but better, and with acapella groups. If you can get by the fact that Nick Lachey is the host, and that Nicole Shernoideawhathernameisger is one of the judges, then it’s a pretty good show. The dude from Boyz II Men is a pretty good judge, but the best is Ben Folds who always gives the most articulate synopsis of the performance.

Either way, my favorite group on there, who made the finals last night, is Committed. These guys never sang popular music before the show, and come from a heavy church background of singing hymns and gospels. But man, they have killed it every time. Check out their performances! 1 here, of Al Green’s “Let’s Stay Together” and 4 after the jump!

Where You At Wednesday: Barry Sanders

Barry Sanders is my favorite running back of all time. That’s saying a lot, considering I am a Vikings fan. But my little bro has always been a Lions fan strictly because of Barry. The guy was just phenomenal, and had he kept playing (which he could have), then he would be all time leading rusher and not Emmit Smith. Either way, Sanders is notorious for being outside of the public eye on purpose. When blog reader Bibbles submitted the clip above, it had me wonder where Mr. Sanders was these days.

As far as I can tell or have found, Barry Sanders now lives just outside of Detroit in West Bloomfield, and is married to a local news station anchor. His son is a notable football prospect and is also named Barry.

When it comes to running backs, Sanders is THE G.O.A.T
