This weekend, my UNC faces off against NC State in an ACC game in Chapel Hill. The Monster will be in attendance and pulling hard for the Heels! All time, Carolina leads this battle 63-30, though there have also been 6 ties. NCSU has a chance to play in the ACC title game if they win their last two games, and UNC is looking to play spoiler to the party. Let’s take a look at past coaches from this game, and what they are up to now.
John Bunting (UNC)
Coach from 2001-2006, and currently not coaching. Went 4-2 against the Wolfpack.
Chuck Amato (NCSU)
Coached at NCSU from 2000-2006. Not currently coaching, went 3-4 against UNC.
Carl Torbush (UNC)
Coached from 1998-2000. Went 2-1 against NCSU, and is currently the defensive coordinator for the Kansas Jayhawks.
Mike O’Cain (NCSU)
Coached at NCSU from 1993-1999. Interesting fact, he coached QB’s and Offense at UNC in the year 2000. He went 0-7 against UNC. He is currently the Quarterbacks coach at Virginia Tech.
Mack Brown (UNC)
Coached at UNC from 1988-1997. Went 5-5 against NCSU. Currently the head coach at University of Texas.
Dick Sheridan (NCSU)
Coached NCSU from 1986-1992. Went 6-1 against the Heels. Impressive record of 52-29-3 at NCSU. Currently not coaching.

MIKE O’CAIN baby! I didn’t realize that homeboy was 0-7 against the heels. That explains a lot about why he got fired. What if he had been there when Rivers arrived?

O’Cain was intially the reason why Rivers wanted to come to State. Coach Amato flew out to Alabama the day he was hired as head coach to get Rivers to still committ to NCSU. Rivers is the best QB at NC State and is about to break Dan Marino’s record in the NFL. GO WOLFPACK this weekend!!!
