Where You At Wednesday: 3 Ninjas

First off, you know how I do, I always give props to where props is due. The idea for this WU@W post comes from the Raleigh Everyman. He’s also new to the blogging scene with a dope new sports blog called “An Ode to Larry Johnson’s Fadeaway.” You can find a link to that in the blogroll on this site as well, but bookmark it, as it’s gonna have some dope articles coming out I assure you.

Okay, now to the post…

While I do remember “3 Ninjas” being a movie, and I do remember seeing it and liking it as a kid, I honestly can’t tell you shit about it now. No idea what the plot was (though I’m sure I could guess and be pretty much spot-on considering this is an early 90′s kids film). But it will be interesting to see what happened to these ninja kids. Let’s check it out:

Michael Treanor as Rocky

Treanor played the eldest brother of the ninjas. He is a legit black belt and still practices as such as an adult. He starred in the original film, as well as “3 Ninjas Knuckle Up.” He actually recently announced he will be bringing his character Rocky back in his own spin off movie entitled “R.O.C.K.Y” later this year, but that the movie will get an “R” rating for more violent fights. The director will be Jon Turtletab, who directed the original first film. Sounds interesting, but in my opinion a poor name choice for the film, for obvious reasons.

Max Elliot Slade as Colt

In addition to appearing in the entire “3 Ninjas” trilogy (the only of these 3 to do so), Slade also appeared as Jay Lovell in “Apollo 13″ and in the television series “Parenthood” back in 1990. He has a degree in Anthropology from the University of Southern California and plays guitar and sings in a band called Haden.

Chad Power as Tum Tum

Power also starred in “3 Ninjas Knuckle Up,” but has not acted since. It appears his MySpace page is here and he seems like a fun-loving guy who is just leading a regular life.
