Admittedly I found out about these guys late. I had seen “From Dusk Til Dawn” and seen them in it before, but I just assumed they were a band for the movie only I guess. After re-viewing that movie and Shazamming one of the songs on a whim, I was lead to their discography, etc. I’ve been purchasing songs left and right and will probably cop one of their CDs. I like how these guys (and girl, in the case of this vid) rock.
In his NBA debut a few nights ago, Lawson went for 17 in 26 minutes. Last night he went for 7 points. Both pretty good showings, and both victories for Denver. I think by the end of the season, he will be stealing most of Anthony Carter’s minutes. Congrats to Ty so far and good luck in the future. This week’s Five For Friday features Ty Lawson. Check ‘em out.

First off, I wanna give props due where props is certainly due. The homies over at TGLR put me onto this ish like last week, but this morning I had some info and a press release in the Monster’s mailbox, so we’re going to give it a post as well, because this new app looks ill. Basically, Flyp’t will allow people to customize and remix their music, by adding dope effects to songs or triggering lyrical phrases over instrumentals like you are scratching it up in the club. Flypt.net will be a social network where you can check out other people’s mixes. Check out a quick tutorial on Drake’s “Best I Ever Had” below:
Pretty dope, right? Here’s the press release below:
FLYP’T Remix iPhone app and FLYP’T.net set to release November 3rd
First iPhone app to release all your favorite songs to customize
NEW YORK (November, 2009) – The day has finally come where all music consumers (with rhythm and without) can truly customize their music and share it with the world. FLYPT offers a new means of experiencing your music on a unique and revolutionary platform. Through the platform that FLYPT establishes music is once again encouraged to be purchased, and empowers the consumer through having the ability to truly own their music. FLYPT enters a booming I Phone application industry that has been described as the next step towards the new wave of business. With all major music companies on board for the project, November 3rd is the date to watch when a true and easy way to customize your favorite songs is accomplished.
FLYPT offers not only a unique and addicting game like application to customize your music, but also facilitates a community through its website (www.FLYPT.net) In today’s society people want to be able to truly customize their lifestyle, and music is a way that many people Identify who they are and where they fit in. FLYPT offers consumers the ability to take an existing song that they enjoy, or might not enjoy, and customize its layout and structure. The FLYP’T application lets users record their moving of lyrical parts and phrases around in a song, as well as editing how those phrases trigger.
Once you have customized or “FLYP’T” your musical creation FLYPT then allows you the ability to share this music on www.FLYPT.net. The network allows user to post updates and interact with each other as well as give kudos to their favorite FLYPT music versions. The music will be streamed on their webpage when uploaded and top flypers will be incentives through promotions. Users also have the ability to search for FLYPT versions of their favorite artist’s songs, according to kudos and genre.
FLYP’T offers a means for artist to sell their music in a way that is new and exciting. Consumers will feel part of the creation process and artist will receive direct feedback that other means of music distribution channels don’t allow, while also establishing a place for fans to interact.
“FLYP’T was created to give users the ability to change the way a song is structured in a easy and fun way” says FLYP’T CEO Gregory Lowe. The application works by giving the user 12 pre selected pads that upon touching them trigger a phrase from the song selected. For example Black Eyed Peas “Boom Boom Pow” the phrase “They be Jockin my style” will be triggered upon the touch. All phrases also have a FX ability, phrases will have the ability to be screwed(slowed down), rolled(sped up and repeated), muffled( to create a club effect) and spun back(reverse effect on the phrase). Users will be able to trigger these phrases over the instrumental of the song and be able to save them in real time while also allowing you to play its regular version, all for only $2.99 for the app and $.99 per song through in-app purchasing.
FLYP’T has now made music fun again with this application. Offering songs from all catalogs FLYP’T becomes a platform and not just a “one off’ artist app. November 3rd is the date to mark your calendars.
Futbol correspondent Will The Thrill checks in with this sick vid of Liverpool beating Man U. That first goal is pretty dirty. Here’s what The Thrill had to say:
“Thought I’d send this before it gets taken down. My boys knocking off Man U. I prob don’t need to tell you this, but my favorite part comes at the 1:03 mark. Up by 1 with 2 minutes to play, what do you do? JACK UP THE GOALIE!!! That’s Will the Thrill style right there. The goals are pretty sick too.”
The Miami Heat are retiring (or did last night, can’t remember) Tim Hardaway’s #10 jersey. In his honor, here is the mix of the man who really invented the Killer Crossover.
So the reason this post is up is because it is kind of the female version of the frat boys from last week. Horrible dance routine, but this time a horrible song. I thought maybe your vote would be swayed by ladies in nightwear.
The Monster’s Verdict: Clowns….until that underlying love for one another that they are so close to displaying turns into a full out makeout session. Then I may reconsider.
Just when you thought Japanese game shows couldn’t get any more ridiculous. These ladies have to get to the center of the ice block fastest. Most choose the “oral sex” technique, while others even shove it down their bikini bottoms.
