Happy Holidays to all, I know the site hasn’t been updated in a while, I’ve been enjoying my holiday like I hope everyone else has.
I’m sitting at home watching the Maryland-Georgetown game right now (step it up Maryland, geez…) and they just put an interesting statistic up.
NUMBER OF RANKED OPPONENTS PLAYED SINCE 1997
1. UNC – 115
2. Michigan State – 114
3. Kentucky – 111
4. Maryland – 107
5. Georgia Tech – 106
For me, this proved several things. The first is that the ACC, despite being down the last few years, is still a dominant and deep conference (evidence of 3 ACC schools in the top 5 shows depth in the conference). The second is that the UNC Tar Heels do not schedule nearly as many cupcakes as some other (ahem…) schools might do. This is one list you will never see dook on.
This was a pretty sick play last night. Heels fans will remember in ‘05 when we ran this play with Felton to Jawad Williams like every game. I think Jackie even got in on the action a couple of times. It’s a classic UNC alley play, kind of like the inbounds one we used to run with Felton to McCants or Noel.
Anyhow, gotta love it!
Game 2 tonight at 9pm EST for the Maui Invitational….GO HEELS.
So, everybody remembers when “American Gangster” came out and all the thousands (or so it seemed) like remixes of it that hit the ‘net shortly after.
I don’t know what The Engineerz were up to back when this was actually current, but apparently they have their own remix to the CD now called “Reasonable Gangster,” mixing it with the Jay-Z classic “Reasonable Doubt”.
Had this in my inbox this morning. Haven’t listened to it myself, but figured someone out there might be interested. I still have a stack of like 40 of these to get to, so if this is hot, leave a comment and let peeps know the deal(io).
I know my man Dead Mike Beezy is gonna like this post.
So Joe Budden aka Mr. Focus aka Mr. Pump It Up aka Mr. Fire has been out of the limelight for quite a while. He’s been blazing some mixtapes up as of late though. His first album was a banger, but came out years ago. His sophmore album (now set for Feb 24, 2009 release) has been pushed back as many times (if not more) than Saigon’s (and that’s a lot).
Anyhow, I’m hoping “Padded Room” makes it out on Feb 24th as advertised.
In the meantime, here’s the single off of it featuring the Game called “The Future”. Joey comes correct. Download it below, listen, and tell us what you think.
All my NC cats, and Little Brother fans know about L.E.G.A.C.Y and how he rips the mic and holds shit down for the capital city (Raleigh stand up!). Anyways, he’s got some big things poppin’ for the start of next year, as well as the end of this one.
Sometime in December, L.E.G. is droppin the “NC Chainsaw Massacre” Mixtape. “Suicide Music” is dropping in early ‘09 as an album. The Monster will certainly keep you posted on those.
Also, December 12th (a Friday) at the Brewery in Raleigh, L.E.G. is throwing his 7th Annual Birthday Bash. Now, I’ve never been before, but I’ve heard good things about the people that show up, and the music that gets played. I’m planning on going this year, if anyone wants to join me, should be a good time.
Now, here’s that new track I was talking about. Saw it in my inbox a bit ago and decided to go ahead and post it.
The track is a leak off of “NC Chainsaw Massacre” and is the radio edit for “No Regrets (Part 2).” The track features production by NC’s own, K-Hill, and also features emcees Lunatic Messiah, Spec Boogie (of Lessondary) and Dynas.
