Please revisit my 5 personal favorite posts of the past year. Give the vids a watch, the stories a read. Maybe you didn’t comment on the actual day they were posted and you want to now, or maybe you didn’t even see the original post. Either way, take a trip down memory lane with a player.
Honorable Mention: Mixtape Monster’s Top 15 Sportscenter Commercials , Mixtape Monster’s Top 10 MJ Commercials
5. Gameday! F Dook, Go Heels! (Feb 6 2008 ) – This was the day of the game the Heels lost to dook in the Dean Dome last season. Even though we lost that game, I consider this one of my favorite posts just based on the sheer number of anti-dook videos you will find on it. I know basketball season is a while away, but this will get you excited for the next UNC-Duke matchup.
4. The Mixtape Monster Reviews the new MURS CD (Dec 21 2007) – This makes the cut because it is the first real review I wrote for the site, and because I had the permission of the artist to do it. MURS has always been a supporter of The Mixtape Monster, and few know that it was his love for the “I GOTCHA!!” interludes on my hip hop mixtapes I sent out to Cali that inspired the name of this very blog. Shout out to MURS and Kate P in Cali for sure.
3. Thoughts from the LB Concert at Cat’s Cradle (Dec 10 2007) – My personal highlights and a couple vids I took on the digital camera from the LB concert at the Cat’s Cradle this past December. Sound quality of the vids isn’t that great, but you can see the energy on stage and in the building for sure. Plus, a couple of funny memories to boot.
2. Exclusive Interview with Tanya Morgan (June 17 2008 ) – Perhaps the crowning achievement thus far of my blogging career, the exclusive interview with Tanya Morgan for their release of “The Bridge EP.” Reader Big Soda helped submit some questions and donwill of Tanya Morgan rocked them out. Best part of the whole thing was prior to the interview, when I discovered that TM had already been too and recognized the Mixtape Monster’s blog. Real talk. I know this was a recent post, but I was really proud of myself on this one.
1. Ol’ Dirt Dog But I’m Not Dogged Out (June 25 2007) – One of the first main posts to the blog. I don’t do too many long stories or personal stuff on this blog, but this is one of the few times I really told a story about something that really happened to me. A funny recap of a night when Butta Butros and I hit the town for some shenanigans. I love this post for a ton of reasons. It tells a lot about me as a music fan, is hilarious, and includes a PERFECT picture for the story. Check it out and revisit the fun.

as i was going through the top posts it brought me back to my fav comment posted by the l.a. “sliz”:
after reading that excellent recap of what seemed to be a pretty good night, i feel like i just flew in to CH, got stizzed with my boys, went out, got wyles, flew back, and am now back at work – at 9:30 am. thanks MM, for the best 10 minute vacation of my life.

im quite happy that this is your absolute favorite post from your blog so far neebs. quite happy – as it was, and is, one of my favorite posts too – for the same reason alluded to in my comment from back in the day that ‘bibblets’ also referred to. in following along with the same spirit-of-celebration for the anniversay of the ‘i gotcha’ masterpiece we all know and love, i wanted to mention my two favorite posts. no shocker here:

and
http://themixtapemonster.wordpress.com/2008/03/17/sliz-gives-you-robotics-102/
i think its obvious as to why these are my favorites, but what might not be known by all is that the MM made my day recently, around the time of the robotics 102 post, by emailing me and saying he had been getting an influx of unique hits from random robotic forums b/c of my posts. that was AWESOME. also, thanks to the ‘i gotcha’ blog, my videos on youtube have been viewed heavily, and even linked to by other more technical robotic sites.
3rd favorite post would be the top-1o MJ commercials. i still watch em almost weekly.

i forgot to mention this above .. but BIBBLETS?!? seriously? where the hell did that one come from? thats some authentic, 100% organic, herbologist-tested ‘SCHWIBBLETS’ shit right there. no offense my friend, but i wouldve stuck with bibs if i were you. now you seem some crazy sugary breakfast cereal that i wouldn’t even want to try.
