FIVE FOR FRIDAY – Friday May 30
May 30, 2008 · Leave a Comment
This week I’m hittin you up with some more hot ish to help you get through the Friday grind.
1. A jam by the band Paramore. Not really feeling them as a band too much myself, but a lot of people seem to like them, and this song is pretty tight.
2. A joint from Hobex, a local band from Durham that has been on the scene for a while. They are real tight and Greg Humphries on vocals makes ish happen. They recently opened for George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic at the Lincoln Theatre.
3. For you rock-electronica heads out there comes a jam from baron. Also for you fashion heads out there.
4. “Chuck Norris On Drugs”…the new Sumkid joint (aka Sum Majere). Up for free download on his RN profile. With a title like that, do I really need to say anything else? Bump it!
5. This punk jam comes from an Asheville punk group called Paperboy. Though this song is sung by a girl from a girl’s point of view….I’m diggin’ it.

Drivin Down the Block – Kidz In The Hall Banger.

Hilarious vid. Hot song. Check out Kidz In The Hall – “The In Crowd” if you are looking for a recent CD that dropped and is worth your dime. The remix to this on the CD has The Clipse and Bun-B. Appearances on other songs by Phonte of Little Brother, Skyzoo, Sean Price, Guilty Simpson and some others.
Maybe it’s the Chicago thing, but their CD reminds me of Rhymefest for some reason.
