Thoughts On Last Night’s Game

Last night, my Heels played Ohio State in Columbus and came away with a tough victory in our first real road test. Ohio State has lost a lot of power since last year (Lewis, Harris, Oden, Cook, Conley), but played real well at home, especially on Hansbrough (he got a double-double anyhow, but it was tough, took him a lot of shots). Anyway, here are some things that I took away from the game. Feel free to agree or disagree, but either way, please comment. Mahfuckers be slackin on that commenting these days, you think I be doing this shit for kicks? A player need some feedback on these posts!

 1. The Heels GREATLY need to better themselves from the free throw line, especially late in the game. I remember DT missing 2, Psycho T missing THREE IN A ROW, and Ellington missing 2 down the stretch as well.

2. This year’s Heels are different from the past couple in the sense that we can win UGLY this year. No Lawson? No problem. That just means instead of blowing you out, we are going to drown you in a close battle with our massive list of interchangable parts.

3. QT is officially on his grizzly. He may have gotten less PT than Frasor last night, but to me he looked more comfortable and I thought he led the transition game better.

4. Bobby Frasor has GOT to hit some of these open looks he is getting this year. They are letting him camp out on the 3-point line and he is getting looks that has got Ellington drooling like Pavlov’s dogs. I think he dropped a goose-egg last night from outside, and had about 5 chances. Step it up Bobby.

5. Wayne Ellington is a beast. The Georgetown 3 from last year that he missed is out of his memory forever. Homey has hit HUGE threes against Davidson, BYU, and now Ohio State late in games. We’ve now got a clutch post player and a clutch shooter to resort to as well.

6. DICKIE V IS PISSING ME OFF LIKE WHOA! All game last night, Dickie V referred to Wayne Ellington as “The Duke,” a reference to jazz great Duke Ellington. Several times he said “string music” in reference to this as well. My problems with this are two-fold. For one, Duke Ellington didn’t play an instrument with strings. For two, you should NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER refer to a Tarheel with anything that even resembles the word DUKE. Another obvious way that Dickie V has got Coach K’s cock on his mind. I encourage every person who considers themselves to be a Tarheels fan to visit this link right here and send a note to Dick Vitale and let him know that as a Chapel Hill fan, you will not stand for such a RIDICULOUS nickname for one of our stars. I just did it, and I think you should to.

 

Heels have Kentucky on Saturday at 2pm EST. Should be a tough test in Rupp Arena. Rumor has it Lawson will be back.
